- First, tonight is Meet the Magic for season ticket holders at Disney's Animal Kingdom from 7 to 9 PM.
- J.A. Adande had some thoughts about the Magic during his ESPN chat:
Josh (Cleveland): First, I'll give credit where credit is due - nice win for Orlando last night. That said, I realized last night that the Magic's formula is better suited to win March Madness than the NBA Championship: they roll with four 3-point shooters and a center. I just don't see that winning a 7 game series against the Cavs or Celtics, do you?
J.A. Adande: (3:14 PM ET ) Until they prove otherwise, I think the Magic's set up to win games, not series
- If you don't read it, you need to. Check out The Fan Voice over at orlandomagiczone.com. Live or Die Magic's latest, "Have You Thanked Billy Donovan Today?", reminds us of that whole situation.
- Our friends over at the Orlando Magic Message Board are talking about the value of Fran Vazquez. Apparently he has value.
- Thanks to Ball Don't Lie over at Yahoo for the shout out on the Polish Hammer video.
- Take a look at PTI on ESPN this afternoon. Michael Wilbon was at the game last night. I'm sure he and Tony have an opinion.
- If you don't already know who Jermaine Taylor is, you will eventually.
- Finally, here is the weekly update on the new Orlando Events Center that is on it's way up. Also, you can click over to orlandoeventscenter.com for more information.

Very nice blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat win last night, I was extremely impressed by the 2nd half play.
As for the Meet the Magic, I have a feeling it will be defined by 1 word: Failure.
I won't be going because I'm up at school, but my brother and father both will be.
The choice for the date and location is absolutely horrible. On a Friday night, not a weekend like it has been in years past and they wait until a month before to confirm it. That really helps for those who have to travel an hour or more to get to Disney. And then they say "for autographs and activities". I have a huge feeling that means the only players signing will be the ones who do so at games. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
Anyways, I didn't know Vasquez had any potential! Love that polish hammer video.
haha I was right. Absolutely horribly managed for about the 5th year in a row.
ReplyDeleteDont get me wrong, I'm very grateful that they do these things, but then again they technically have to because every team does them.
And you'd think after all these years they'd learn from what works and what doesn't, but nooooo. They only have 1/2 of the players signing, and b/c of how they did the lines, you could really only get through 1 of the 3 autograph lines.
I understand that some people don't want autos, they just want to hang out with the players, but instead of having them do both, which is very possible b/c the players aren't two years old, they CAN sign and hang out at the same time, they have some players ONLY sign, and have others hang out in the arcade and tell those players "You aren't allowed to sign autographs."
Wow, I'm sorry to be complaining like this but EVERY YEAR we think "This year they'll figure it out" and every year they let us down.
And to think, we've had season tickets for 20 years, given the team more $ than we can count, and this is how they return our love.
